How to Set up a Just Giving Page for GYC

Thank you for choosing to fundraise for Gloucestershire Young Carers. Your support enables us to keep providing services to improve the lives of young carers in Gloucestershire. Here you’ll learn how to set up your fundraising page and how you can try and achieve your fundraising goal!

The first thing you need to do is create your account with JustGiving, if you already have an account, you can simply sign in.

Next, you need to follow the steps on your screen. Just Giving have a helpful video tutorial to help guide you through setting up your page you can watch here if you have any problems. You can set the page to be a team or individual, depending on your activity e.g. If you are doing a Tough Mudder as a team you may decide to fundraise as a group rather than individually. You can opt for one fundraising page together and share the link to socials, email and text to showcase to friends, family and colleagues that you are fundraising and taking on this amazing personal challenge and ask for their support.

What are the key things I need to do?

There are some steps you need to make sure you do correctly on JustGiving’s website to ensure you successfully set up your fundraising page for Gloucestershire Young Carers. If you are doing an event for Gloucestershire Young Carers that requires a deposit, please ensure you have paid this before setting up your JustGiving page.

1) Click “Yes, I am fundraising for a charity.”

2) Choose Gloucestershire Young Carers on the list of charities.

3) When prompted you need to select the option that says you are doing your own activity. You need to put the activity details e.g. Fire Walk or Wing Walk and the date your event is taking place.

4) Select your Target. Always aim high, you can always amend this along the way if you feel it is too ambitious or want to increase your goal. Some events you will be asked by Gloucestershire Young Carers to set a target pledge.

5) Personalise your JustGiving page. Think about why you have chosen the challenge, how you are feeling about it and why you are supporting GYC. You can also add a photo of you or your team to make it clear it is your page.

6) The last step is to sign up to receive updates from Gloucestershire Young Carers, so you can stay in the know of how your Fundraising supports Young Carers in Gloucestershire. Don’t forget to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok.

Good luck and if you need anything along the way please do not be afraid to contact us, we want to make your fundraising journey as easy as possible. We really appreciate your support!
