Participation

To recognise and promote young carers as experts by lived experience, empowering them to actively shape the support we offer and contribute to wider changes that benefit all young carers.

The Our Voice and YACtion forums provide key platforms for young and young adult carers to actively participate and influence decisions

Young carers have opportunities to develop their skills and confidence, empowering them to participate meaningfully and influence change

Support & connection

To develop and deliver innovative, quality services for young carers that minimise the impact of their caring role and place them at the centre of a holistic, strength-based approach.

New opportunities are actively explored to develop tailored services that address emerging needs

Young carers, become part of the GYC network, where they gain support to cope with their challenges, opportunities to connect with others who understand, and access to enriching experiences

To work strategically to improve the early identification of young carers and promote a swift, supportive response from all professionals and services they engage with in their local community.

We work with education, health, mental health, substance misuse, social care professionals and communities, to enable the identification and effective support of young carers

We influence decision-making at a strategic level, both locally and nationally, to ensure the needs of young carers a reprioritised

We enable young carers to have a voice and shape the support they receive from the organisations and services they come into contact with

To build a sustainable future by embedding our values, strengthening our reputation, and being a trusted partner in all that we do.

We set SMART, outcome-based targets that demonstrate a positive impact on young carers through evidence-based practice
