On Tuesday 1st September 2024, the Mosquito Mission visited The University of Gloucestershire to deliver two sessions to Primary ECT students, informing them about young carers, their experiences in school, and how they as new professionals can help identify and support young carers in their schools.

Last month we ran our Caring Counts course for our Young Adult Carers aged 16-18 at the Ed Shed in Gloucester enabling them to come together to learn, support and share.

School groups workshop a success! We were pleased with the response that we had from schools for our workshop on Young Carers Action Day 13th March. It was all about running young carer groups in schools and how this can be done and we had over twenty schools sign up for it!
From January 2023 young carers have been included in the annual school census which gives a great opportunity to build accurate data on the number of young carers in education across the UK.
