A group of young adult carers aged 18+ were welcomed to Gloucestershire Airport by @flytohelp for a day none of them will ever forget. The day is part of their ‘Airsmiles’ programme. The group got to learn more about the aviation industry and what it has to offer while having a once in a lifetime experience with members of the airport staff.
They had the chance to experience flying (some for the first time) above Gloucestershire, attempting to land a plane in the flight simulator, experiencing being a firefighter, and to top it all off, being driven around in a selection of super cars!
"It is by far the coolest thing I've ever done, and I will always remember it."
"It was the most incredible and amazing experience ever and everyone there was so lovely. I had one of the best days I've had in a long time!"
"I felt like a V.I.P"
"Absolutely incredible....a once in a lifetime experience."
Sam Cleevely, Young Adult Carer Manager described how ‘Opportunities like this offer young adult carers an experience that pushes them out of their comfort zone, brings so many strengths and really opens their horizons to what else life can offer’.
Staff agreed this was probably the most exhilarating young adult carers activity we’ve ever done. A massive thankyou to Fly2Help for hosting a truly magical day.
