A Message from our Colleagues

Volunteers play vital role in supporting young carers.

As part of Volunteers’ Week (2–8 June), we just want to say a huge THANK YOU to all the volunteers who has supported Gloucestershire Young Carers over the past year.

Whether you’ve helped at groups and activities, raised awareness, driven young carers to sessions, supported us behind the scenes with admin, or guided us as part of our board of trustees, we’re so grateful for everything you do.

You’re a vital part of the GYC team, and we honestly couldn’t do what we do without you. Your time, energy, and kindness make a real difference to young carers across the county.

Thank you for being brilliant, we appreciate you more than words can say!

With heartfelt thanks,

Sue, Volunteer Coordinator

Here's what some of our colleagues said...

Sheryl Donnelly, Senior Key Worker, said, “Our volunteer drivers Alick & Paul are more than just drivers, they’re a friendly face and a listening ear, making a difference in the lives of young carers at GYC.”
Nicola Marsh, Data and Impact Lead, said, “I have worked with several of our volunteers over the years and it has always been a pleasure and a privilege. Their dedication to young carers is inspiring. They not only help us run activities and regular respite support groups for young carers but they are our voice out in the community constantly raising awareness and money so we can continue to support young carers and young adult carers in Gloucestershire. We could not have run our Family Fun Day in 2024 without our many volunteers who helped us set up, take down and run the site all day. I would like to thank every one of the wonderful people who volunteer with us.
