The two weeks Easter holidays give GYC a lot of opportunities to enable young people to have fun, respite and enjoy new experiences. We try to provide a range of activities for young and young adult carers to ensure we engage those with different interests.
Cirencester group had a lovely sunny day getting up close to the animals at Scrubditch Care Farm including feeding the new spring lambs, feeding chickens, and taking the goats for a walk!
Our Forest of Dean Group had the opportunity to learn to take off and land a plane in a flight simulator during a fun visit to Gloucestershire Airport, thanks to fly2help.
Some of our creative young carers adult carers went along to for Paint-a-Pot in Cheltenham and had a lovely time chatting together and getting stuck in including many who had not done an activity with the Young Adult Carer Service before.
Families got creative in the kitchen, whipping up nourishing meals from scratch (including yummy fish tacos!) with professional chef Ryan from the amazing Wiggly Charity.
For those who love being active there was a fun day to build their skills at football with Kc coaching at Cheltenham Ladies' College – read all about it in our blog.
Not forgetting young and young adult carers from forums having the opportunity to talk to MPs representing Gloucester and Tewkesbury and getting their voices heard!
A huge thank you to all our partners who helped make these experiences possible.
