GYC attends Young Carers Futures conference in Manchester

It was an early start on Monday 16th October, for eight of the GYC team as we set off to Manchester to attend the ‘Young Carers Futures conference ‘the first from the Young Carers Alliance hosted by Carer Trust.

Goodbye Kate

We say a very fond and sad farewell to Kate Moss who has worked for GYC over the past nine years. Kate has been supporting young carers living with parent with mental ill health developing lots of new services. She has also been working with all the health agencies to help them to identify young carers and know how to get them support.

Caring Counts reaches 50!

Our Caring Counts programme runs throughout the year with different age groups and is offered to young carers aged 11+. We discuss the strengths and challenges of being a young carer and what we can do to keep ourselves healthy and support our wellbeing.
