We are expanding our Volunteer Community Ambassador team...

Our Volunteer Community Ambassador, Annie, has done so well spreading the word about the work of GYC, we are expanding the team.

We give a warm welcome to Pam.  With Annie she will be out and about talking to community groups across the county.

Pam is not new to GYC, she has been volunteering for us since 2020, just the perfect person to go and talk to WI and Rotary groups.  She has worn many hats from being a helping hand at our annual YACs Futures events to wrapping books for Christmas gifts.  Up until recently she has shared her expertise by sitting on the Board of Trustees.  She will be a big asset sharing her knowledge of the work of Gloucestershire Young Carers.

What does it involve being a Volunteer Community Ambassador?

The role:

Location: Within your local community

Commitment: You can give as much or as little time as you are able; hours will suit your personal circumstances.  Although it would be desirable for you to spend a minimum of five hours per month.

The role:  To deliver talks and presentations to groups within your local area.  You will decide your own schedule by attending as many or as few talks as you would like.  We welcome and encourage you to contact local organisations and organise your own talks.

Before we let you loose in the community!

You will be given full induction and training.

You will have access to our Community Ambassador Toolkit, enabling you to deliver bespoke presentations to diverse communities and audiences of all ages.

Our Fundraising (Marketing and Communications) Team will be there to provide you with support, guidance, and advice.

Why: Raising awareness. Through your talks, you will engage and inspire support for GYC, and encourage involvement in our fundraising initiatives with community groups throughout the county.

We would love to recruit even more Volunteer Community Ambassadors, If you would like to become an Ambassador please see our website: About | Gloucestershire Young Carers (glosyoungcarers.org.uk)
