KidsTime Workshop Co-facilitator / Drama Practitioner

Contract: One Year
Hours: 5-7 hours per month including monthly Wednesday evenings.

Do you have skills and experience in running drama and video sessions with children and young people? Are you interested in using those skills at our monthly, multi-family groups for families where a parent experiences mental health difficulties?   

KidsTime Workshops offer a fun, protected space where young people can express themselves, interact socially, share experiences and learn about mental illness through discussion, games and drama.

Multi-family workshops are co-delivered by the KidsTime coordinator, mental health lead and drama practitioner. Lead responsibility for delivering a family friendly mental health seminar and for facilitating the parenting group session lies with the mental health lead whilst facilitation of the children’s drama and video session is led by the drama practitioner.

Volunteering Opportunities

KidsTime Workshops

With your support, we can build a fun, activity-based, peer support community for families in Cheltenham where a parent experiences mental health difficulties.

KidsTime delivers multi-family workshops which enable children and parents to feel less isolated and to learn and communicate together about mental illness.

• Whole family education sessions and facilitated discussion
• Children’s drama and games sessions focusing on mental health
• Parenting sessions enabling parents to learn from one another

Volunteer Role
• General assistance to staff, children and parents
• Set up room and clear away after session
• Set out and clear away food for group meal
• Engage with families
• Participate in workshops (as appropriate to experience and training)

Date: second Wednesday of each month commencing summer 2022
Time: 4:30—7:45pm (including set up/tidy)
