World Book Night

Young carers across Gloucestershire will receive copies of well-known books to encourage them to get reading as part of World Book Night.
Books by authors including Roald Dahl and Robert Muchamore are among those that will be distributed to young people as part of the national campaign.
One young carer said: “I don’t like reading serious books. I have enough serious stuff in my life and I like to read funny books.”
Another young carer reluctantly took one of the free books and, upon returning to the charity’s offices the next day, said: “I’ve almost finished it. I just couldn’t help but see what it was like.”
The aim of World Book Night is to encourage people who don’t regularly read to pick up a book for pleasure.
