Gloucestershire Young Carers’ 2nd annual Twilight Briefing was presented to a packed meeting room at the offices of Randall & Payne in Shurdington.
Around 16 young carers and staff from the charity presented to health professionals, GPs, teachers and various representatives from organisations with connections to young carers.
Keynote speaker was Dr Helen Miller, Chair of Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group, who praised young carers on the event and the charity on its achievements in the past year including the GSK Impact Award that recognises their work in supporting families with mental ill health.
Four workshops were held where young carers presented their own experiences and invited discussion from the delegates.
Further resources for supporting young carers in schools, by GPs and those facing mental ill health in their family are available on our website.
