Shop and Drop a Token

Two major supermarkets will be featuring us in their token scheme in the next few months so if you’re popping into Tesco or Asda then pick up a token at the checkout and pop it into the token bin.

TESCO:

Our project along with two other projects will feature in a vote at Tesco stores where customers will decide the outcome by voting for their favourite project each time they shop. Voting will take place from Tuesday 1st May to Saturday 30th June 2018.

The project with the highest number of votes across the region will receive up to £4,000, the second placed project £2,000, and the third placed project £1,000.

Please click on the link below to find a list of stores taking part.

ASDA:

ASDA stores in Gloucester and Cheltenham also run a green token giving scheme and we need your nominations!  Every month three charities are selected and are awarded up to £500, depending on the number of ‘green token’ votes they receive in store. To nominate us, either click on the link below or  pop into store a pick up a ‘Make your vote count’ nomination form.

* Who are you nominating?

Gloucestershire Young Carers

* Why do they need our help?

GYC support children and young people aged 8 to 24 years old, who care for a family member who is ill, disabled, experiencing mental ill health or substance misuse. They need help towards the running costs of their Respite Support Groups, where young carers go to take a break from their adult-sized responsibilities.  Held during term time, these groups provide a safe environment for young carers to enjoy activities with other young people who share similar experiences.
