Gloucestershire Young Carers took the opportunity in November to recognise the achievements of young carers and some of the many individuals and agencies that support them.
The Shining Star Awards, supported by Tony Martin of Zurich International, was a fun filled evening with awards being presented for:
Most Committed Young Carer (Senior): Gemma from Dursley * Most Committed Young Carer (Junior): Latisha from Gloucester * Most Reflective Young Carer: Tim from Churchdown * Significant Personal Development: Ricky from Churchdown * Using Most Initative: Charlotte from Dursley * Loudest Young Carer (Senior): Jolene and Melissa from Gloucester * Loudest Young Carer (Junior): Corrin from Stroud * Whackiest Young Carer: Clare and Lizzie from Stroud * Elephant Award (Most forgetful): Dan from Cheltenham * Always up for a Jolly: Duane from Stroud. *

Food and Disco followed the presentations.
Our thanks go to Cassy Hilder who donated her winnings from the Pride of Gloucestershire Awards, and Polly Clarke who also donated funds to enable the ceremony to go ahead.
