16+ Young Carers Group

"It was a quiet weekend in April, the sun was shining the sheep were bleating and all in Wales was peaceful..................... then we arrived!!! We being the Young Carers Transitions Group, descending on the peaceful Welsh town of Bleavon. It was a weekend full of food, fun and go karting. We stayed in a residential centre called Pwll Du (apparently pronounced Puf De!!), just outside the town. On our first trip into the town for food, I think we managed to impress the locals! We had lots of pool competitions and ate lots of food, cooked by top chef Pete, and went go karting........ Twice! I was obviousley great at the go karting but had to hold myself back, I just wouldn't do for me to win every time!. The final winners were Dayna and Karina, well done to both, they even got medals to prove it! Unfortunately we got rain on Sunday but it didn't affect us, it just ment that as they left the grid everyone crashed in to everyone else.... great entertainment I promise!! With everyone wet but happy we headed home having disturbed Wales fully. It was great and definately worth doing again, so next time any of you get a silly letter from me just think what fun you could have! So you know the transitions group is open to young carers aged between 16 & 25. We meet every 3rd Thursday of the month. for more information contact the young carers office." by Laura - Group Worker
