Young Carers Groups

Juniors

9th October 2007

This is Stonehouse young carers group and we'd just like to say its fun to have everyone here and because of them this place is a good and happy place. There is Laura, Ali, Ele, Cameron, Corrin, Kirsty, Kerrie, Mia, Jamie, Eli, Nadia, Hannah, Claire, Lizzie, Bethan, Bethany and Becky.

The games we play ar exiting and they make everyone happy and cheerful. The stuff we do is really fun and good. Ali is a very good artist and during the clay modelling and drawing she is always there to help you. The people here are kind and thoughtful. They are always there if you need a helping hand.

The centre is big and open and we can roam around and be wild. We always enjoy the night.

We always have really good parties especially at Christmas. People all like taking part in the activities. We do a lot of swimming and go to a lot of outside places and it is always good. I really like the walks in the woods.

This report is written by Corrin aged 9 and Bethany aged 10

Seniors

Hi, were Josie and Donna the two Group Workers at Stroud Seniors. On average we have 6 - 7 Young Carers every time the group meets. There is a good mix of characters at the group and generally we all get on (most of the time!!) We have a good variety of sessions, video nights, craft sessions, quiz nights and trips out. Probably the favourite sessions are those involving food and prizes!

Young Carers is..................

"Young Carers is a really relaxing but fun way of letting your problems etc float away. You can talk, play and have trips out to places like the Cinema and McDonalds........it's really GOOD!"

 David

"Carers in basically a brake form home, from the people we look after. It is a fun way to interact with people and it's a good way to make friends and go to new places. You can learn about the way people live and who they look after"

Tyler

"Our project workers are really kind, they look after us, they buy us chips and are very considerate"

Tyler

What we've been up to.........

In January we went to the Cinema and watched Paycheck. The film was quite confusing because it kept jumping back and forth to the future and the present. The one good thing about it, was that Ben Affleck stared in it!

Soon we will be having a Video night. We will be able to choose from a variety of films, we will have popcorn and other snacks. I am personally looking forward to it!
