The
Gloucestershire Young Carers Forum 'Our Voice' meets regularly to discuss
young carers issues and has representatives from all of the young carer
groups across the county. 'Our Voice' not only plays an important
part in decision making processes but also raises awareness about young
carers. This year the Forum has been involved in lots of trips, meetings and activities to achieve these goals.
From being interviewed at Gloucester FM radio station; to a trip to the Prime Minister's home; to giving a presentation at the Gloucestershire NHS Annual General Meeting - the Forum members have been very active in getting the message out that young carers do a fantastic job and deserve the best services and support.

* NEWS From The Forum! *
At the time of this being posted, the Forum are hastily trying to plan and pull together the final strings in the tapestry that is going to be our 18th birthday party. Of course it's not actually a tapestry, but you get the reference, we're all frantic, basically! As the Big Birthday Event is currently on top priority I can't even think about what else we've got waiting for us to turn back to once the 25th October has been and gone. An NHS consultation, Youth Take Over Day and new staff appointments were on the last meeting agenda and of course, Forum has got some Highly Secret stuff up it's metaphorical sleeves. Mostly we are trying to think of ways that Young Carers can fundraise and irritate people enough that they remember us really!
Forum is a great way of getting our voices heard, helping GYC to sort out their services and staff, so if you want to talk to us - go ahead - we really don't bite!
Thanks, Abby
