Young Carer and Family Locality Worker
Forest of Dean/Gloucester Locality – 22 hours based in Forest and Gloucester
Salary: Scale H, Pt 26 – 28 (£23,398 – £25,951) pro rata
Permanent contract subject to funding
The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking assessment visits with young carers and their families in order to identify their needs and develop a support plan. Working in close partnership with statutory and voluntary agencies, you will take a whole family approach, enabling family members to access services that reduce the extent and impact of caring; and enable young carers to access services that improve resilience, health and well being.
We are looking for an experienced professional with proven ability in communicating sensitively with children, young people and their families. You will hold a relevant qualification at a minimum NVQ 3 or equivalent. You will work primarily in The Forest of Dean and Gloucester, based at our offices in those localities, but will be comfortable travelling throughout the county as required. Availability out of school hours is essential.
